This is a good way to deflate people’s rage that we are all hoity-toity up in here. Half the time I have no idea where, what or who is draped on my skin. Etsy asks some real New Yorkers the simple question, “ Where do your clothes come from and do you care? ” I kind of love this.

There you have it. With a beard comes wisdom, with wisdom comes a beard. End of story. Or should I have come up with a longer word for this piece on the bearded wonder Scrabble champion?
The king of American Scrabble has kept his crown, as Nigel Richards spelled his way to the 2011 National Scrabble Championship title and a $10,000 prize. Richards, 44, is a former world champion from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

New Orleans ‘Red Dress Run’ a beer-fueled charity event The Harriers, who style themselves as a “drinking club with a running problem, ” have recruited thousands of guest runners, walkers and layabouts to wiggle into crimson gowns and make their way from bar to bar in the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny on Saturday. Now in its 17th year, the New Orleans Red Dress Run has soared in popularity since its debut, growing from an initial field of about a dozen to a sprawling romp that draws participants from as far away as Chicago. About 7,500 men and women registered for the 2010 event, raising close to $200,000 for charity. Proceeds were divided among 50 local nonprofit organizations.
HATE GROUP’S NEW BOOK SMEARS ROMNEY AS PRO-GAY | Hate groupMassResistance is peddling a new book by one of its members called “Mitt Romney’s Deception,” which details how the former Massachusetts governor supposedly promoted gay rights and “sexual-radical programs” in schools. The author, Amy Contrada, regularly attacks LGBT individuals, groups, and allies, through her work with MassResistance, including Kevin Jennings/GLSEN, Elena Kagan, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and more. Contrary to Contrada’s claims that he is pro-gay, Romney, a Republican presidential hopeful, recently signed the National Organization for Marriage’s anti-gay pledge and said Don’t Ask Don’t Tell shouldn’t have been repealed. MassResistance has posted a “trailer” for the book, most of which is just pictures of people at pride parades intended to look radical and offensive. Here’s 12 minutes of anti-gay hate attempting to smear Romney:
LOOK: Amazing New Pictures From Mars After a nearly three-year journey, the Mars rover Opportunity on Tuesday reached the rim of the Endeavour crater, according to a statement from NASA and the Associated Press. According a statement release Wednesday by NASA, the Opportunity will study rocks at the 14-mile diameter crater that until now have have never been seen.
Airline Passengers Get Some Mile-High Sex Ed Qantas passengers might now have a reason to stay awake on long-haul flights. A
documentary about the female orgasm is now available for viewing on all of the carrier’s international flights, reports news.com.au. The French film, “The Female Orgasm Explained,” seeks to show the intricacies of the female orgasm and features old pornos, graphics and sound effects. According to a Qantas spokesperson, the documentary is the most popular selection on in-flight channel The Edge (obviously). A synopsis of the film in the entertainment guide has an MA rating, and flight staff can block the program from unaccompanied minors. Other, less racy, options include Disney movies, music concerts, snippets from TV series and the latest film releases, but those are no fun in comparison.
Polygamist Sex Freak Masturbates 15 Times a Day in Jail According to one of his former jailers, the convicted child rapist masturbated more or less continuously while in custody. Rick Bradley, a guard at the county jail where Jeffs was kept in the weeks prior to his trial, told The Daily that the 55-year-old seemed to be suffering from sexual withdrawal and pleasured himself “a lot.” What does that mean, exactly—five times a day? More, Bradley said. Fifteen times? “Sometimes more than that,” he told The Daily. The guard said that the prisoner—who was not permitted conjugal visits—often played solo in full view of his guards. “We could see him,” Bradley said.

ThinkProgress.org reports “This afternoon, CNN hosted Bradford Wells and Anthony John Makk, a binational couple married in Massachusetts in 2004. Makk — who is an Australian — applied for permanent residency, but his application has been denied since the Defense of Marriage Act prohibits the federal government from recognizing same-sex relationships. Wells had this message for those who support the discriminatory law: “I would like someone to try to uphold the Constitution of the United States. I would like equal treatment. I want my marriage to be recognized just like every other marriage in this country is recognized.” Watch it:

Does this mean that Frances Bean Cobain will be stepping into the spotlight? We would all be tuned in, don’t deny it.

A new photo shoot with Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of late rock icon Kurt Cobain and musician-actress-personality Courtney Love, reveals the progeny has a tattoo of Quentin Crisp on her back.
Bean is the subject of a moody black-and-white photo shoot by Hedi Slimane. In the photos the 19-year-old shows off a number of tattoos, including one of the late queer activist on her back beneath her right shoulder next to a French quote, “L’art est la solution au Chaos,” which translates as “Art is the solution of chaos.”
The British-born Crisp, who died in 1999, is still celebrated by many as a queer pioneer. His 1968 memoir The Naked Civil Servant detailed his life and the persecution he often experienced due to his refusal to hide being gay.
