Canada, Doing So Many Thing Better than “US”
When I grow up I want to be as smart as Canada. Amazing health ( compared to “US”) and offering equal rights to our gay brothers and sisters. Hard lessons take some time to learn and at times you have to beat it in. Canada, please pick up a club and give us a wack!
Same-sex couples mark 10th anniversary

Joe Varnell and Kevin Bourassa, along with Anne and Elaine Vautour, were the first same-sex couples to be married in Toronto at Riverdale’s Metropolitan Community Church on Jan. 14, 2001.
Since then, same-sex marriage has been upheld as a constitutional right across Canada. It has also become legal in several other countries and states.
But getting to this point has not come easy. There were court battles right up to the Supreme Court of Canada.
“I had no idea how huge this was going to be for so many people. It made a huge difference in the world,” said Anne Vautour.
The couple have buffed up their wedding rings for their big event. “After 10 years they’re looking a little scratchy, so we had them polished,” added Elaine Vautour.

Beat Writer Burroughs Apartment Gets a Dusting
William Burroughs: Objects From the Bunker
Peter Ross’s photographs of William S. Burroughs‘s possessions from his still-intact apartment present a quirky biography of the Beat writer.

“William Burroughs: Objects From the Bunker” is a show of photographs by Peter Ross, which opened December 10 at the Common in San Francisco. The show features 14 images (The Advocate has two bonus images) of possessions belonging to the Beat writer William Seward Burroughs, from his still-intact New York City apartment (known as the Bunker). Burroughs lived in the Bunker (the underground locker room of an 1880s YMCA) through the ’70s, and after moving to Kansas in 1981 kept the space as his NYC home.
He died in 1997, and the Bunker has remained as he left it.
The exhibition kicks off Showmanship, a special weekend Holiday Market and Pop Up Shop running through December 12 at the Common. Hours are Friday 6-10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Ex-Gay, Fake Straight
Who are you fooling and why? I’m convinced that people who claim to be ex-gay ( uh hum bullshit cough hmm) are the saddest, weakest gays of all. They must have failed miserably at being gay, being happy and getting laid and desperate for acceptance. Being a a sad gay is ALWAYS better than a FAKE straight. It’s os confusing because they say they are GOD people. Then don’t they know GOD knows the truth. Beats me I never met the guy/gal (GOD)
Meet the Ex-Gay, Ex-Drag Queen Pastor

Pastor Ja’Von Crockettappeared this week on the religious talk showAtlanta Live to discuss his life before he came to Christ — as a gay man who dressed as a drag queen named Mother Cavalli.
Crockett appears on the show with Pastor Willis Graham, a man he credits with helping his true self to blossom. He refers to Graham as the minister of “redemption and the restoration of life.”
He says Graham didn’t judge when he first attended his ministry: “He allowed me to be me. I told him, ‘the minute you put me in a box — I’m gone.’”
Graham says he never viewed Crockett’s sexuality and “lifestyle” as an obstacle — he says his desire was to “be used of God to bring out the man that he is now.”
He says their relationship is one of “brotherly love” and that Crockett has taught him what it really is to love.
