Man Clings To Life After Mission Shooting Sunday Night

A San Francisco man was shot in the Mission district Sunday night and rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, a police sergeant said.

The 27-year old man was sitting in a car in the 1500 block of Alabama Street at Cesar Chavez at around 10:20 p.m. when suspects approached, shot the victim multiple times, and then drove away, Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

Police had no suspect or vehicle description as of 2 a.m. this morning but believe it could be gang related and are asking witnesses to come forward.

They are urging anyone with information to call the department’s gang task force at (415) 553-1401 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.

Weekend killings raise San Francisco homicide toll to 15 so far this year

The frigid weekend concluded with two fatal shootings and a stabbing that left a man struggling to stay alive, propelling The City’s homicide count to at least 15 this year.

The most recent killing happened around 7:40 p.m. Saturday. Police found Aldo Hernandez, 25, dead with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of what was thought to be his own car near the Potrero Hill Recreation Center.

Hernandez was found near Dakota and 23rd streets, Sgt. Mike Andraychak said. He appeared to be the “intended target,” he said.

That discovery came two hours after a shooting at 25th and Connecticut streets, which is believed to be unrelated. The victim, a man in his 50s, is expected to survive.

RIP: Actress and Golden Age sex symbol Jane Russell passed away today in her Santa Maria home with her family by her side. She was 89.

Russell is best remembered for her spicy silver-screen debut in Howard Hughes’s The Outlaw, and for starring opposite Marilyn Monroe in the Howard Hawks classic Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Concerning her shapely measurements, comedian Bob Hope once quipped: “Culture is the ability to describe Jane Russell without moving your hands.”

I am going to generalize now. ALL PRIESTS ARE SEXUAL DEVIANTS AND PERVERTS (until proven innocent). Is this not clear?There needs to be major studies and observance of those choosing to go into priesthood or a life ” of the church”. Is there a scientific link to perversion and sexual instability and wanting to serve “god”? Hell, gay men and women have been put through all sorts of tests in history with absolutely NO REASON. We have piles of data to support the research of a link between priests and misconduct of minor. Lets pick on the guilty. It’s time to leave the gays alone.

Antigay Rev. Arrested for Masturbating in a Park

One of the loudest voices against the annual Southern Decadence festival in New Orleans‘s French Quarter was arrested Friday afternoon for masturbating in a public park.

Rev. Grant Storms, 53, was arrested at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, La., a suburb outside of New Orleans, according to the Times-Picayune.  He told police he was having lunch in a van with his friend, but needed to urinate, so he used a bottle instead of a bathroom.

Two women in the park saw Storms reportedly masturbating in his van, while watching children, and notified a parks employee who proceeded to call police.

Storms was released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center due to jail overcrowding.

Storms has orchestrated counter-events for Southern Decadence in the past, and in 2004,filed a lawsuit against gay rights group Action Wisconsin for defamation, but the suit was thrown out of court. He has also been an advocate for cleaning up the French Quarter, and has gone as far as filming sexual acts that took place during Southern Decadence, and screening his videos to lawmakers as a way to coerce them to stop allowing the annual festival from taking place.

NY court rules that surviving gay spouse retains marriage rights

A New York appeals court ruled that the survivor of a gay marriage could receive the inheritance from his male spouse on Thursday, even though New York does not yet allow legal gay marriages to be performed in the state.

J. Craig Leiby and H. Kenneth Rantfle were legally married in Canada in 2008. Three years ago, Rantfle died of lung cancer and left the majority of his estate to Leiby. But Rantfle’s brother contested the will, saying that Leiby’s inheritance would violate New York law, according to CBS New York.

Gay marriages are illegal in New York, but the state recognizes legal out of state and out of country marriages; therefore the court ruled that Leiby is legally entitled to the inheritance as a surviving spouse.

Lambada Legal said the decision was the first of its kind at an appellate level in New York, according to the Huffington Post.

Lambada’s senior counsel member Susan Somer said the decision “puts to rest the idea that out-of-state marriages of same-sex couples could be vulnerable to attack.”

World’s Hairiest Girl by Guinness World Record. Girl Bear?

Preteen Wolfette of the Day: Supatra Sasuphan, an 11-year-old from Bangkok, has been named World’s Hairiest Girl by Guinness World Record — much to her delight.

“I’m very happy to be in the Guinness World Records! A lot of people have to do a lot to get in,” she is quoted as saying. “All I did was answer a few questions and then they gave it to me.”

Sasuphan says that, thanks to her new-found title, she is now extremely popular at school.

Training videos on workplace harassment and discrimination are usually so sterile and unrealistic, they’re hysterical. But at least Therese Allen, who creates these videos for a living, threw up some special sauce to illustrate a situation where gay workers get harped on by colleagues and bosses. WHO DOES THAT TOM THINK HE IS?! (But hey, it is great that gays are being included in this sort of training.)

Art ‘Is Gay,’ According To Banksy Successor Stall

First off I have a school teacher for my better half and he has broken me down to agree with him that we ( everybody, gays included) need to STOP saying things are “gay”. No matter what way you look at it, when it’s used to describe something with the intention of saying it’S LAME, DUMB, or BAD its negative for all gay people on a whole.

As far as Stall’s “art ” work, I say LAZY! I understand the humor behind what he’s doing, but lets not pay him any attention. Lets give him his 15 minutes of fame and then go back to worshipping Banksy!

Synthetic marijuana widely used at Naval Academy, some midshipmen say

A synthetic form of marijuana is widely used at the U.S. Naval Academy because it cannot be detected in routine drug tests, according to several former midshipmen who have been removed from campus for using or possessing the substance.

Since its introduction at the academy last year, synthetic marijuana has become popular among rank-and-file midshipmen and on the football and wrestling teams, the former midshipmen said. Some isolated corners of the historic Annapolis campus, they said, have become well-known gathering spots for smoking it.

Synthetic marijuana is an herbal potpourri sprayed with chemicals that, when smoked, produces mood-altering effects. It is illegal in at least 12 states, although not in Maryland, and is prohibited in the U.S. military, including at its service academies.
