The Boy With Pink Hair by Perez Hilton

by Accidental Bear

I think hell just froze over. Perez writing a book makes total sense though.  He’s been picked on and bullied now doubt, gays make fun of him and he has occasional pink hair. This is a fine recipe to make a heart felt children’s book about acceptance. You go Perez, I applaud you.

Just in: Celeblogger Perez Hilton already moved into the world of music. Now, he’s getting into books.

Hilton is penning a children’s book titled The Boy With Pink Hair, celebrating individuality and self-acceptance. “This story is about every kid that’s ever had a dream, felt excluded, wanted to belong, and hoped that one day they could do what they loved and make a difference,” says Hilton in a release.

It will be published by Celebra Children’s Books, in partnership with Penguin Young Readers Group in September. First printing: 75,000 copies.

Hunx & His Punx, Featuring Former Gravy Train Member Seth Bogart

by Accidental Bear

A feel good, gay, Ramones vibe. A must have for bopping around the city and long train rides. Thank you and you’re welcome!

Considering that this project was originally conceived with a Svengali–like desire to assemble a teenage girl bandToo Young To Be In Lovethe first proper full-length by Hunx & His Punx, featuring former Gravy Train!!!! member Seth Bogart — finds a gritty lo-fi aesthetic surprisingly elevated by its reverence for Phil Spector and the American vocal group. Bogart’s self-admitted strategy of singing tales of female teenage heartbreak through a gay man’s lens renders a real sweetness to these songs that resists irony; the unfeigned sentiment of songs like “If You’re Not Here” and “Lovers Lane” nearly transcend the trope-cum-campiness of it all.

4th Annual; 50 Power Gays You Should Know

Yes, No, Yes, Yes No NO NO, Yes…….. no no YES YES no…

via Out Magazine

People come and people go, and this—our league table of America’s most influential gay men and women—reflects an awful lot of coming and going since it debuted in 2007.

Although Ellen DeGeneres finds herself back in pole position, many names have fallen or dropped out altogether (au revoir Rosie), while others have rocketed up (Rich Ross, Tom Ford) as their successes warrant. And then there are those we never saw coming, such as one Adam Lambert, whose attention-grabbing run on American Idol was largely interpreted as a referendum on tolerance.

Not everyone has to be a Lambert fan to appreciate the power of his position to influence our cultural and social attitudes for the better—one of several factors taken into consideration when compiling this list. The others are political clout, individual wealth, and a person’s media profile. And as always, new entries are marked with a star, with arrows indicating changes from last year’s rank.

Catching Up With Charo; Win Win

by Accidental Bear

I must admit, at least once a year my partner and I co-host a party at our home with Charo ( no she is not here but, our invites are cleverly photoshopped with her added to our family portrait). Charo is god in our home. She also appears every Christmas for our annual Pee Wee‘s Christmas Special shindig with her crowd pleasing performance. So What’s Charo up to these days?

María del Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Gutiérrez de los Perales Santa Ana Romanguera y de la Hinojosa Rasten — aka Charo — has been cracking up American audiences since she brought her trademark “cuchi-cuchi” to America more than 40 years ago. While most know her as an actress and comedienne who began appearing on The Today Show and Laugh-In in the ’60s, she’s also considered one of the world’s greatest guitarists. In fact, she’s twice been named “Best Flamenco Guitarist” in the world by reader polls in Guitar Player Magazine.

The sexy, spicy — not to mention hilarious and charming — Spanish performer just released her latest single called, what else?, “Sexy Sexy,” and she’s getting ready to share it with the boys at The White Party on April 10. We recently caught up with Charo to chat about the White Party, why she loves the gay community so much, her new single, and much, much more:

For more info on Charo, head to her official website. To purchase Charo’s new single, “Sexy Sexy,” visit iTunes. For more info on the White Party, including how to buy tickets, head here.

Yigal Azrouel "Catus" Pants

A self taught designer, Yigal Azrouel, has stunned the masses with his critical menswear designs. Debuting his menswear collection in 2007, he’s gained worldwide notoriety by introducing a modern aesthetic and draping to all his pieces. The “Pants in Cactus” illustrates these details thoroughly in the design. The shell is 100% cotton and offers 100% lamb leather details throughout. Crafted in the United States, Azrouel uses a hook and bar closure with a button fly. The pant also offers side slit pockets as well as welt back pocket. (fwdfwd)
