MC Hammer, Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Accidental Bear Join ‘Hands Across California’

by Accidental Bear

Ok, who’s got our back? I didn’t hear you, LOUDER, Accidental Bear is there for your local reporting. With my super human instincts, my knee’s ache and ears twitch, telling me, there’s a story needing coverage. Next I need to come up with a super hero outfit. Any suggestions? This  afternoon involved surreal circles of hand holding with Lt. Gavin Newsom and Mc Hammer.

Yo, sound the bell, school is in, sucka. Can’t touch this, unless you’re holding my hand in order to support community colleges.

Yeah, it doesn’t really flow, so MC Hammer probably won’t be changing the lyrics to his famous song. But in an unlikely partnership, the super dope homeboy from Oak Town and San Francisco’s own Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom will be holding a joint press conference at City College of San Francisco’s main campus at 3 p.m. Thursday in order to support the “Hands Across California” event later this month.

The event is a fundraiser for the community college system, which has seen drastic cuts in funding during the state’s recent budget crisis, and has been forced to increase the rates it charges students. The event is an attempt to raise funds for the public schools, and attempt to create a human line stretching down the state.

The hand-holding event will take place on April 17 at 2 p.m. Hammer pants and fresh new kicks are not required.
