College Conservatives Need a Stick up Their Ass to Relax

by Accidental Bear

My first though is, “Pull that stick out of their Ass!” , but then my second thought wins, “If they had a good stick up their ass every now and again they would probably be a lot more relaxed and not so concerned about the morals of everyone else in the world!”~ AB

By Michelle Garcia @ Advocate Daily

Texas Aggie Conservatives X390 (GRAB) | ADVOCATE.COM

A group of conservative students at Texas A&M University say a video advocating for safer sex is pornographic.

A one-time seminar on safe sex hosted by the university’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center surprised some, including members of the group, the Texas Aggie Conservatives. Student Justin Pulliam told KHOU News that the content was “completely inappropriate” because it was paid for by student activity fees.  READ MORE

Levi’s Sculpture by Ian Mcchesney

by Accidental Bear

With my love for Levis and my separate closet just for blue jeans, who would have thunk to build a sculpture? Jeans usually last about 3 weeks of wearing before getting washed (shush!) and basically stand up on their own in a sculpture like formation. British architect Ian Mcchesney takes us to a whole new level of putting together an outfit. This outfit of jeans he has made is fit for the Guggenheim  ~AB

British architect Ian McChesney has sent us images of the sculpture he designed for Levi’s as part of the Regent Street Windows Project in London.

Coinciding with the launch of the Levi’s® Water<Less jeans – made using significantly less water, this sculpture is based on water and fluidity – over 100 pairs of jeans are fixed together in the form of a giant whirlpool. The piece uses 120 pairs of jeans riveted together using over 1000 copper rivets. It measures 9.4 x 4.8m and is 3m high. It was designed by Ian McChesney and Fabricated by ‘millimetre’.

Mark McNairy for Bass Weejuns for Spring/Summer 2011

by Accidental Bear

I have flirted with these shoes for the last year on men on the metro here in SF. I have flashbacks of junior high because every school year we would get a new pair of Dock Siders to ONLY to be worn to school and “dress up” days; Picture day for example. I again find myself attracted to them. I am surprised though to see them coming out again for summer. The way fashion moves, won’t they be “out” by then? ~AB

END offers a wide assortment of MM’s for Bass Weejun shoes just in time for Spring/Summer 2011. The leather mocassins continue to rule the roost, as they say. The collaborative effort between NY’s modern day shoe wizard and G.H. Bass looks to bring well-priced models that look and feel great. Eddie Rabbit would recommend avoid wearing them on a “Rainy Nights” (watch for aggressive lightning). Via Selectism

Gay Sailors Will Be Able to Wed on Base

by Accidental Bear

Really? It seems as if our Country has a syncing problem. Part of the US is moving gaywardly forward, while the rest is stuck in the mud. Married gay sailors = HOT! Married gay sailors = a positive role model for the US as a whole. ~AB

UNITED STATES NAVY X390

Following the impending repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” Navy chaplains have been given the go-ahead to perform weddings for same-sex couples in states where marriage equality has been legalized.

An April 13 document from the Office of the Chief of Navy Chaplains was recovered recently, showing that inquiries were made into whether chaplains will be allowed to perform such ceremonies. After legal review “legal counsel has concluded that base use is sexual orientation-neutral. If the base is located in a state where same-sex marriage is legal, then base facilities may normally be used to celebrate the marriage,” the document says.

Chaplains are allowed to officiate same-sex civil marriages if the church they belong to recognizes the union.
