Matt Zarley new song- WTF; Seriously Matt, What the Fuck?

by Accidental Bear

I wanted so bad to find out that this was just a joke, a skit, but my research found out that this is for real. My new grown up mind wants so hard not to judge, so I bite my tongue and I ask you to watch for yourself and tell me what you think. This would be way to easy for me to rip it a new ass***e and rain on Matt Zarley’s parade (oh, and it would be a downpour!)

‘Encampment’ brings attention to homeless LGBT youth/ Castro SF CA

by Accidental Bear

This tickles my heart string for personal reasons. One day we’ll sit down with a box of tissue, take out Chinese food and chocolate in 10 different forms. We all get bombarded with homeless people daily and most likely we walk over top of them as we would any other stray object on the sidewalk. SF is famous destination spot for homeless gay runaways all hoping to land in a glamorous new life or in the hands of a sugar daddy. Unfortunately it most likely doesn’t end up as “glamorous” as it all sounds. Homeless youth gather in a sort of Take Back the Night type of rally. ~AB

Castro nightclub patrons were startled last Saturday night when several dozen homeless youth and their allies established a temporary encampment around the stairs at Harvey Milk Plaza, part of a day of actions meant to bring attention to budget cuts for groups that provide housing to at-risk LGBT youth.

The May 14 encampment was part of a nationwide demonstration to raise awareness of homelessness among a demographic known as transition-age youth. Homeless and foster youth between 16 and 24 years old can face unique housing challenges, particularly as they age out of the foster care system and learn to navigate services for adults.

“We’re here to engage the community on homelessness, and specifically queer homeless youth issues,” said organizer Beck, who uses only one name. “We’re in kind of a state of emergency, saying, ‘hey community, wake up.'”

Saturday’s action started at Civic Center with games, an unveiling of protest banners, and hot meals served by Food Not Bombs. A march proceeded to Harvey Milk Plaza, where speakers read poetry and called for improved access to services to get off the street.

Yodeling, Country-music-singing, Lesbian Topp Twins

by Accidental Bear

If you have not seen this film yet I suggest you see it, buy it, live it, re-watch it, buy it for Christmas gifts, buy the sound track, join their fan page and then re-watch the film. Unless you don’t enjoy being royally entertained, laughing and feeling good. Last year I had the good fortune of catching this film at the Castro theater where the Topp Twins were present and opened and closed the film with a song. Even better than their film is seeing them live and yes, as America’s Next Topp Twins uber fan, I have sat in their audience and clapped, laughed and sang along. I never in my life wanted to be a cancer surviving, singer song writing lesbian from New Zealand in my life!

via B.A.R.
A huge hit at last year’s San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls has beaten the odds and is arriving tomorrow at a theatre near you. Leanne Pooley’s folksy doc unravels the only-in-New Zealand phenomenon of twin, yodeling, country-singing lesbian sisters Jools and Lynda Topp. Raised along with their gay brother in their island nation’s rugged cattle country, the Topp gals started busking for giggles in the early 1980s, leading to a career that has no clear American counterpart. The film switches from chronicling their near-icon status with gently funny spoofs of New Zealand male and female archetypes, to serious episodes of anti-nuclear and pro-queer demos. READ MORE,

Professional Bowling Champ Comes Out; Lets Call Him the King of Balls

by Accidental Bear

Oh goody, now that the big wigs are coming out we should have a domino effect effect. I guess some would put bowling in a league of sports. I mean after all you change your shoes and all. There aren’t many sports where you can eat chill dogs though. I might have assumed he was gay by his chicken plucked eye brows, but we all know that would have made an ASS out of U and ME. AB

Professional Bowling Champ Comes Out
By Michelle Garcia

A professional bowler who was named Rookie of the Year says being openly gay while on the tour was “extremely important” to him, so that he could act as a role model for fellow gay athletes.

After passing the California bar exam in 2009, Scott Norton went on to pursue another life-long dream or becoming a professional bowler. In his first season, 2010-2011, Norton won a Professional Bowling Association tour title, and then was named PBA Rookie of the Year by his peers. Norton wrote on the league’s website Thursday, that his experience on the tour “surpassed nearly everything I could hope for in terms of acceptance.”

“I am very proud and happy with who I am and who I have become as a person,” he added, “and I would hope that this will empower other gay athletes – past, present, or future – to come to terms with the truth about who they are and love themselves for who they are.” READ MORE

Hot Milan Soccer Players Wearing Dolce & Gabbana: Charity

by Accidental Bear

I want to say this is eye candy, but it’s actually more like eye banana splits, if you get my drift. Who say’s your money-maker cannot make you money exploiting it as well as using it to run around a soccer field kicking balls around and slapping your mates on the ass? Exploitation of the male body for the sake of charity is a-okay.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will celebrate AC Milan’s 18th football championship with the entire team at the Dolce & Gabbana men’s boutique on Corso Venezia. The design duo will also present their new book Milan Fashion Soccer Player Portraits by Dolce & Gabbana, the proceeds of which will go to benefit the Npo Fondazione Milan.

Left Field Angus Young Shorts

by Accidental Bear

Hi high school I missed you. If I wear these shorts will I also break out into pimples and have to wear braces again? It has recently occurred to me that I may be in love with Left Field clothing. My computer tells me that I post about them most of all. Summer crush? ~AB
——————————————————

Left Field pays homage to the AC/DC legend in a quartet of new shorts for Spring/Summer 2011. One pair is a Spanish Chambray, one made of Japanese Hickory Stripe, a Japanese Pinstripe, and the final a US grown and woven red Organic Cotton Twill. Details are the same for all four, and they include a chain-stitched waist band, heavy-duty YKK zipper fly, front slash pockets, back welt pockets, Japanese chambray pocket bags, and sustainable Corozo buttons throughout.

NEW: Blondie – “Mother” – Official Video

by Accidental Bear

Blondie old friend , I missed you! FYI, you are looking a little like Dolly Parton and the song sounds like it may have been written for Kelly Clarkson. That’s not a bad thing at all, I just thought we should have this conversation.

Official Video for “Mother”, the first single off the upcoming Blondie album, Panic of Girls.
