If you are like me you sit around the house at bill time, tapping the pen furiously on the desk wondering how the hell am I going to make ends meet. I look at my furniture and wonder what I could get for it. I look in the mirror and wonder what someone would give me for a piece of my ass? Things like this find on the Antique Roadshow never happen to me, but then again all my furniture is IKEA. I guess there are less fortunate. That’s it, after reading about this $1-1.5 million find, I am going to start collecting ugly junk. AB
Gawker Says: At this weekend’sAntiques Roadshow stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a man walked in with a set of five Chinese cups carved from rhinoceros horns that he’s had since the 70s. An appraiser for the show, Lark Mason told local news station KTUL, “As each one came out of the box my jaw started to drop a little more and that of at my colleagues eyes and their jaws dropped as well.”
