Chaz Bono stepped out with his first beard on Friday, and RadarOnline.com has the photos. Bono is the transgender son of Cher — he began life as Chastity Bono — who has completely made the transformation from female to male. PHOTOS: Chaz Bono Shows His New Beard Now an advocate for gay, lesbian and transgender rights, Chaz documented his change in a film titled Becoming Chaz.  It has been nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards. Chaz was out running errands in Los Angeles Friday when he was spotted sporting facial hair for the first time.

 

 

Colorado State University Entomology Instructor Creates a Buzz with Bee Beard 

FORT COLLINS – When Colorado State University entomology instructor Mathew Camper wanted to illustrate a point for students, he called for help – from 10,000 bees. Camper had thousands of the stinging insects buzzing around, crawling on and clinging to his torso, head, neck and face while he offered his mug as the milieu for a bee beard. The entomologist will use photos and videos from the stunt to demonstrate honey bee behavior and disposition for students. “Honey bees are really gentle, the gentle teddy bears of the insect world,” said Camper, a faculty member in the Department of Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management. “The bee beard is a great teaching aid to make this point.”

Transformers front-man Shia LeBeouf walks to the gym to keep up his leading-man figure with headphones in. The promising young actor will star in the big-screen adaptation of The Company You Keep, which will be directed by Robert Redford who will also star in the film.

PHOENIX (AP) – Space shuttle Endeavour commander Mark Kelly delivered an out-of-this-world message to a U2 concert after Bono dedicated the song “Beautiful Day” to Kelly’s wife, Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Bono told the crowd at Seattle’s Qwest Field on Saturday night, “Imagine a man looking down on us from 200 miles up. Looking down at our beautiful crowded planet. What would he say to us? What is on your mind Commander Kelly?”

Kelly then appeared on a video board from the International Space Station and quoted lyrics from David Bowie’s `Space Oddity.’ “Tell my wife I love her very much,” he told the surprised crowd. source www.katu.com

Chaz Had Letterman Squirming (watch interview)

In general gender reassignment surgery can be a graphic and brutally honest conversation some may not be ready to hear. That’s why it was fantastic for Chaz lay it all out for David Letterman without trying to sugar coat his words or terminology to make it “easier” for the audience to hear. I think Chaz should go with a large dong when he’s at the point of choosing. One small step for mankind one enormous leap for transgendered!

Chaz Schools Letterman On Transition

Chaz Bono appeared spoke with David Letterman and the host expressed discomfort when the discussion turned to gender reassignment surgery.

Becoming Chaz, a documentary about Bono’s transition, premiered Wednesday on OWN. TV Squad reports that Letterman asked him, “Are we done, surgically?”

“He must have been hoping for a ‘yes’ answer. Instead, Bono started talking about the current medical limitations of the ‘bottom surgery,’” reports TV Squad. “As he talked about penis size options and sensitivity, Letterman was visibly squirming and uncomfortable.”
