by Accidental Bear

Bear Hug (Dark) T-Shirt by Matthew Parsons

An Englishman living in Canada. Mathew Parsons is a dedicated fine art photography graduate who is passionate about imagery as a form of expression and communication. He spotlights and puts emphasis on self-challenge, within the realms of photography and video, to convey impressions, emotions and statements conclusively. He hopes that his work entertains and motivates others to think more. I always encourage and promote that.

World Premiere of “Outlaws of Love” – Adam Lambert – HD Live – Sainte Agathe

by Accidental Bear

ADAM LAMBERT OUTLAWS OF LOVE 390x (SCREEN) ADVOCATE.COMI believe most writers learn a lot about themselves through writing about others and thinking about your reading audience. Adam Lambert does not fit into my music box but I am all about applauding for a gay brother. As I race towards 40, I feel as if there isn’t as much room in me for hate and judgment and find more pleasure in giving my gays shout outs and instead of useless bashing of words. Adam, I stand up out of my chair and clapping for your effort put into your new single “Outlaw of Love.”

Adam Lambert performed a song off of his upcoming album at the Sainte Agathe Festival in Canada on July 29, 2011.

by Accidental Bear

You know the type of guy that carries around his skate board but never actually rides it? These rugged boots are motorcycles specialties, but you never have to touch a motorcycle to pull off the rugged look. I suggest you get a helmet and carry it around as an accessory to theses boots. I will never tell. Canada’s Viberg works a special edition boot for Japan’s Iron Heart company. This Scout boot comes wrapped with a 21oz and a buffalo leather wrapped vamp. Available now from the Ironheart UK online shop.

Furni Lowtop Moccasins: Tradition with a Twist

by Accidental Bear

selectism - Furni Lowtop Moccasins

Furni continues to play with traditional Canadian footwear this summer. You might remember their fine attempts to “Rock the Moc,” in the form of two “Rockassins.” The Canadian design firm is keeping things a touch simpler this go round, offering two lowtop mocs – one in caramel and one in black – both traditionally constructed.

Furni is taking orders for these beauties through August 4, 2011.

Four Year Strong Project Greenroom Interview

by Accidental Bear

It is no secret Accidental Bear’s “bromance” With Four Year Strong. Want to know more about Four Year Strong’s upcoming third full length?

“The records not a punk record, it’s not a pop-punk record, it’s not a hardcore record, it’s a rock record. Listen up to Project Greenroom’s sit down with these hunk-of-burning-loves and listen to them chit-chat about this and that. They fulfill my straight-boy-crush to the max.

Canada’s Naked & Famous denim house goes head to head with AMS’s own Tenue de Nimes for a special 24 pair run of 13oz green rope-dyed repro denim. They have a vintage army feel to them. “Specific attention has been paid to matching the shade of green perfectly. The mid-green color proved a particular challenge since the dye is very unstable, but the hard work has paid off, giving us a beautiful and truly inspired color.” Well done fellas. Available online

“White Pants”: Two Jasper Johns; Bear love, Forever Love |Hilarious Video

by Accidental Bear

Hello friends! I’m a newborn TV show about two quirky brothers trying to quirk their way out of… I don’t know what I’m saying. It’s not my job to keep track of what this show is about, or who is in it or whether CAA has called today because not only have they haven’t but again it’s not my job to know any of this. I’M NOT A MARKETING DEPARTMENT! I’m just a TV show.

Scouts Get Prepared for More Gay Recruits

by Accidental Bear

“It’s OK to be gay and a Scout!”

BE PREPARED – for equality. In a landmark decision, the Scouts are looking to welcome more gay recruits and leaders.
Britain’s best-known youth organisation is keen to dispel the myth that homosexuals cannot join the organisation and as part of this it has produced a document entitled ‘It’s OK to be gay and a Scout!’ READ MORE

Furni Black “Rockassins” Comfort Over Style

by Accidental Bear

Help! I really am interested in these. It may be a case of giving in to comfort over fashion (although these are quite cute in a probably wouldn’t leave the house in them way, but I wear them all the time at home). Shush, it’s old age.

Furni Black “Rockassins”
On May 9, 2011 Furni will release the second round of their “Rockassin.”

Here’s what the French Canadian blokes have to say, “It’s time to “rock the moc”. We’ve teamed up with a family owned business with almost 40 years of experience making snowshoes, moccasins and other Indian handcrafts here in Canada to offer you these beauties. These crepe soled ankle high moccasins are made from supple “black”leather. Each pair will be skillfully crafted by hand to order in small batches less than 250kms from our Montreal workshop.”

Apparel with hip-hop roots isn’t just about bold logos and graffiti

The Scifen Company Spring 2011

selectism - The Scifen Company Spring 2011

Apparel with hip-hop roots isn’t just about bold logos and graffiti based graphics. Barmak Badaei’s second season of the new look Scifen Company exhibits a paired down aesthetic with bold attention to fabric. Badaei’s take on classics, if you will, has a brash edge to it for sure, but isn’t without strong detailing and obvious considerations for the minutiae of manufacture.

We caught Scifen’s French Terry Crew in Vegas. We follow with a few highlights from the Spring collection. Coats above, more after the jump.

Canada, Doing So Many Thing Better than “US”

When I grow up I want to be as smart as Canada. Amazing health ( compared to “US”) and offering equal rights to our gay brothers and sisters. Hard lessons take some time to learn and at times you have to beat it in. Canada, please pick up a club and give us a wack!

Same-sex couples mark 10th anniversary

(J.P. Moczulski/Associated Press)Two same-sex Canadian couples who made international headlines and North American history by being the first to be legally married, will renew their vows, along with 50 others, in a 10th-anniversary celebration Friday.

Joe Varnell and Kevin Bourassa, along with Anne and Elaine Vautour, were the first same-sex couples to be married in Toronto at Riverdale’s Metropolitan Community Church on Jan. 14, 2001.

Since then, same-sex marriage has been upheld as a constitutional right across Canada. It has also become legal in several other countries and states.

But getting to this point has not come easy. There were court battles right up to the Supreme Court of Canada.

“I had no idea how huge this was going to be for so many people. It made a huge difference in the world,” said Anne Vautour.

The couple have buffed up their wedding rings for their big event. “After 10 years they’re looking a little scratchy, so we had them polished,” added Elaine Vautour.
