Q & A with Scooter Laforge Part 3

by Accidental Bear

Accidental: Would you ever or have you had sex with a tranny?

Scooter: Yes, I think I would have sex with a tranny… she would have to be masculine…. well I should be honest.. I am really vanilla, I have never been with a woman, I just am an average joe who likes dudes.

Accidental: Mr. Laforge there ain’t nothing average about you! I think the majority of gays are vanilla, it’s just the extreme fringe that gets most of the publics attention.

Accidental: Whats the first thing you think of when I say Corn?

Scooter: Turds.

Accidental: How would you respond if someone said you are the Keith Haring of today?

Scooter: “I have been obcessed with Keith Haring since I was in elementary school. I collected EVERYTHING I could get my hands on. I got ALL FIVE K. Haring swatches. Books, hats, sweatshirts, tee shirts, blow up babies, a radio, stickers. I still love him so much and never tire of looking at his work. He is the reason I became an artist. ”

Accidental Bear Welcomes Mollie Stone’s to Castro

by Accidental Bear

There was buzz around town for the faster than expected opening of Mollie Stone’s in the Castro, SF CA.  I wanted to stop in opening day to see everything fresh and new ( so did everyone else in town). The store was crowded and a bustle in the air. I saw familiar faces from  the neighborhood with excitment in their faces or maybe it as hunger. The staff was busy stocking shelves and answering questions from eager customers. I know the satff had to fight for these jobs because I saw the long lines that snaked from the store the day they had “open call”

“Pray the Gay Away?” Tuesday at 10/9c

by Accidental Bear

How much poor representation of homosexuals can one world take? It makes me sick that Lisa Ling goes along with him pretending that he wants to be straight for a second. Who is he convincing? Poor thing, you need therapy and to drop this thing called ” god” then you can start some real healing and acceptance of who you are. As for now I will diagnose you; Homophobic Homosexual

Bonus Sneak Peek: “Pray the Gay Away?”, an all-new Our America Tuesday at 10/9c

Meet Christian. A young man trying to shed his past as a drag queen, stripper and homosexual. Tune in Tuesday at 10/9c for an all-new episode of Our America with Lisa Ling.

SF Play by Play via B.A.R.

by Accidental Bear

I have to say that I have had a break through, change of heart if you will after viewing the film We Were Here. I feel as if a majority of the gay men in the “scene” or part of our gay community in San Francisco act in ways or have attitudes ( bad attitude) that divides each other with an overall high school popularity / mean girls competition. The film showed multiple ways that our community works much better together ( gays AND lesbians) than divided. I may put aside my superiority complex and live life from here on out as a compassionate gay adult living in the best community in the world. I love the fact that this film has restarted a conversation of togetherness, one fight. One last note, I LOVE  LESBIANS

Inside the Out There play-by-play

Out There

We Were Here co-director and editor Bill Weber and producer/director David Weissman enjoy the film's premiere at the Castro Theatre. Photo: Rick Gerharter

Since pop star Britney Spears feels quite at home enough in the Castro District to do her Good Morning America shoot from there, and actress Faye Dunaway feels she belongs back in the spotlight on Dancing with the Stars, we feel we can bring you along to a deep, dark, exotic place where many fear to tread: Out There’s weekend datebook. Last Friday night at the Castro Theatre, OT was among the VIP crowd at the opening-night premiere for We Were Here – The AIDS Years in San Francisco from co-directors David Weissman and Bill Weber, a benefit for Project Inform and Shanti . At the reception in the mezzanine, the filmmakers made remarks to a see-and-be-seen crowd that included political luminaries Carole Migden, Scott Wiener , Harry Britt, and special guest singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright .From the stage of the Castro, Wainwright conjured up the spirit of Judy Garland as he sang “Over the Rainbow” with heart and soul, accompanied by Matthew Simmons (Peggy L’Eggs ) on keyboards. Shanti e.d. Kaushik Roy , PI e.d. Dana Van Gorder , Weissman and Weber made touching remarks. Then they rolled the film.

Gareth Thomas to Attend Royal Wedding

( I like to claim the good gays)

By Editors

Gay rugby star Gareth Thomas will be among the guests attending the royal wedding in April.

Thomas tweeted over the weekend that he had received an invite to Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton.

“Need to buy a new hat? ooops did I say that out loud. Yes I have had an invite to the royal wedding. have you?”

Though the guest list has yet to be confirmed, The Telegraph reported Monday that while Elton John, Kanye West and David and Victoria Beckham are likely to be among the guests, the Obamas aren’t expected to be invited.

AussieBum-Bum Benefits Bears’ Charity; Muffin Tops Welcome

by Accidental Bear

To answer the age old question BOXERS or BRIEFS. I have been accused of wearing what is called old man undies. Let me explain. I am thrifty by nature and turned off by expensive underwear ( Ohhh I think that could be a new Bravo Show). I am a fan of a 5-pack of Fruit of the Loom or Hanes ( How do you keep your hands off me, beats me!) assorted plaid boxers, in big boy sizes. On a side note I’m all about a good cause or what I like to call “D0-Gooders”. So, thank you AussieBum for representing” the Bear” and non-Bear big boys.

Sydney, Australia

Australia’s largest bear club, Sydney’s Harbour City Bears (HCB) have teamed up with the iconic Australian underwear brand aussieBum to raise money for charity.

AussieBum has manufactured a limited edition pair of Bear Essentials underwear which will be sold by HCB to benefit their charity Inspire, during their upcoming Bear Essentials festival – a part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Only 250 pairs of the underwear, which feature the Bear Essentials 2011 branding designed by Melbourne artist Grant Cook, have been produced. They will sell for $39.95 AUD in sizes ranging from small to extra-large, with all profits going to youth mental health charity Inspire.

HCB Vice President, Richard Moore, says: “We’re excited to working with aussieBum to benefit such a great charity as Inspire, who do fantastic work with young people.”

“We encourage the guys in Sydney for Bear Essentials to support the cause and purchase the underwear from our stall at Mardi Gras Fair day during the Bear Essentials Festival launch.”

“Plus they make a great memento of Bear Essentials and great gifts for people back home.”
