The wild and mangy whiskers of some 60 European hopefuls went on display over the weekend as the 2011 Alpine Beard Festival kicked off in Chur, Switzerland. As the Daily Mail is reporting, the event — now in its 26th year — drew hairy locals as well as some contestants from neighboring Germany and Austria. The event rivals the World Beard and Moustache Championships in Trondheim, Norway.
