What constitutes an ‘internet craze’? A certain number of copy cats? Being talked about by Diane Sawyer ? Harmless internet stunts is what comes to my mind that are emulated numerous times over a short period of time. You may now call me Webster. I am easy to please though. It only become annoying when those participating in such memes becomes famous for doing nothing.

Horsemaning, the latest fake internet crazes hows just how meaningless the idea has become. Three days ago Buzzfeed, the tireless meme-aggregator, decided to take a stab at creating a meme of its own. The site posted a vintage picture of two girls posing so it looked like one was the dismembered head of the other. They dubbed this “horsemaning,” after the headless horseman, posted some examples and solicited reader photos. A bunch of readers responded. (You’ll find a few above.)

Today, preternaturally cheery Today show hosts Hoda and Kathy Lee did a bit on horsemaning. They giggled about how silly this “huge internet craze” was, and posed for their own horsemaning picture, after BuzzFeed urged them to over Twitter. Except, as of their segment, the horsemaning “craze” was composed of a handful of Buzz Feed posts, a Facebook page with a few hundred likes, and a few desultory blog posts from other sites. MORE

Christians Now Hate Old Navy: But What Will they Wear?

Gary Cass of DefendChristians.org says Old Navy is promoting a lifestyle that is in “complete rebellion against God.”

“Rather just focusing on giving good products to their customers, they want to use their products now to advocate for a very controversial topic, much less a very immoral and very deadly topic,” notes Cass.

The T-shirt designs include a white shirt with “Love Proudly” written in the colors of the rainbow, and a black shirt with rainbow-colored stripes. Cass tells OneNewsNow that an economic dent in the company’s profits may be the only way to change things.

“Unfortunately we have to do the hard work of communicating our outrage, our frustration — and then following that up with some kind of practical expression such as taking your business elsewhere,” he suggests.

According to reports, the T-shirts will be available at 27 Old Navy stores until the end of June or until supplies run out. Facebook followers of Old Navy’s “Love Proudly” campaign are criticizing the retailer for not distributing the shirts through all of its outlets and only making a few dozen available at the select locations.

All Eyes on A Bear Knows Photos Brendan McWeeney

I spotted Brendan McWeeney bounding over chairs and crawling to the floor to capture the best moments of Bob Mould’s performance at Swedish Music Hall on Market Street, SF. Later to find to out that I have admired his photographs before as they appeared on friends of a friend of a friend of a friends Facebook page, you get it. Who needs the CIA anymore I tracked him down via the internet and pleased to find a sweet collection of his work ranging from architecture, landscapes, sports, travel and live music.  I personally feel like he rocks, no  pun intended, at grabbing just the right moments at live music shows and the results are evident.

I asked him what his dream gig would be. Brendan say’s  “As far as a dream gig goes. I’m not 100% sure what that would be. This year it’s to shoot a large festival, I don’t know what my goal will be next year. Ultimately the goal is to be published in a national news outlet, either some big rock or hip hop or general music magazine or blog. I know that’s a ways off though.” I say dream big, big boy (FYI, Brendan is a big hunk of burning Ginger love = side note). I have been around the block enough to notice when a photographer has an eye for “the”  shot, and Brendan is a natural. Looking forward to seeing more of his work in the future. Schoolboy, 15, jumped to his death after rumors he was gay

A Gloucestershire teenager jumped to his death after rumours circulated that he was gay, an inquest has heard.

Dominic Crouch, 15, a pupil at St Edwards School in Cheltenham, threw himself from a six-storey block of flats last May after returning from a school trip.

An inquest in Cheltenham heard that pupils played spin the bottle on the four-day art trip and there were rumours that Dominic had kissed a boy.

His parents said he appeared happy when he returned from the trip but just days later, he left school at lunchtime to go to the block of flats where he got to the roof via a trapdoor.

Notes were found in his pockets apologising to his parents.
