Isaia Autumn/Winter 2011 Looks

Hold on and let me grab my bucket list. Nope, fly fishing in a fine tailored suit isn’t on there, but I am a sucker for theatrics. That is exactly what Italy’s Isaia collection is, well fitted, bum grabbing clothes that will turn a $20- whore from West Hollywood into a gentlemen. Fly fishing poles not included

Lee 101 Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection: Woodsy

by Accidental Bear

Woods, but the real test is, Can you swing an axe? Back in the day Lee was un-cool hand me downs. Through the test of time and durability Lee is stronger than ever. Woodsmen, dock workers, and laborers alike are the inspiration for the Lee 101 collection. “A highlight of the collection is the Logger Jean – sturdily constructed it is fitted with extra durable and functional details such as suspenders and additional pockets, it is available in a selection of 5 finishes (2 rigid, 3 washes).”  You will be protected by the city elements you city slicker: rough train seats, close encounters with rogue nails sticking out under your  work space or desk and unexpected downpours of acid rain.

Italian Official Thinks Ad for Ikea Featuring a Gay Couple Holding Hands is “in bad taste”

by Accidental Bear

I have bloodied my knuckles putting together bed frames, dressers and lamps from IKEA, breaking all stereotypes and whooping out my jaw dropping macho hammer and putting it to work. No one needs to know there are always a few extra screws when I’m finished. If it weren’t for my “gay gene” my finished products wouldn’t have all come together for one glorious vision of luxury (gay enough for you). Done with my confession. What does this “top” Italian know about taste anyhow? Does he know that it is tacky and VERY bad taste to discriminate? I say send him back to finishing school, take away his cell phone privilege for a week and put him in a room full of IKEA furniture and let him think about what he’s said and make him write a 1,000 word paper about respect (3 snaps up in a circle).

A top Italian official thinks an ad for Swedish furniture maker Ikea featuring a gay couple holding hands is “in bad taste” and in direct opposition to Italy’s constitution.

Secretary of State for family policy Carlo Giovanardi says he thinks it is “in bad taste that a Swedish multinational comes to Italy to tell Italians what they should think.”

The ad, which features two men holding hands, reads, “We are open to all families.”
