Madonna Vs Britney “Burning Up”

by Accidental Bear

One of the many ways to be a bad gay is not being a fan of Madonna’s music. I fall into this category. I enjoy Madonna’s song from 1985 and before. I just caught wind of a cover (gulp) Britney Spears did a cover of Madonna’s “Burning Up.” What are the thoughts in your head? Here are the two versions side by side. I hope I get some gay points back by admitting to having a favorite Madonna song, “Burning Up.”

My Acid Just Kicked in; Weird Al Does Gaga

by Accidental Bear
Weird Al is one of my guilty pleasure. I bounce back and forth between wanting to kick his ass and laughing. My all time favorite parody of his would be Eat it, having fun of Michael Jackson’s Beat it. There is no stopping this speeding geek train named Werid Al.

“Weird Al” Goes Gaga

Some of the lyrics include:

“I’m sure my critics will say it’s a grotesque display
Well, they can bite me, baby — I perform this way
I might be wearin’ Swiss cheese or maybe covered with bees
It doesn’t mean I’m crazy — I perform this way”

By Michelle Garcia

Comedic singer/songwriter “Weird Al” Yankovic will release a single and music video based on Lady Gaga‘s “Born This Way” after initial reports that Gaga rejected a request from Yankovic to parody her song.

Yankovic’s made a name for himself after releasing songs and music videos parodying Queen, Michael Jackson, and Madonna in the 1980’s. For his next album, slated for release this summer, Yankovic planned to release a single and music video based on Gaga’s “Born This Way” titled, “Perform This Way.” The song is a take on her ostentatious presence and outlandish style, on and off stage.

For the love of Tony Ward; Uniform dressing is the look for 2011

by Accidental Bear

Tony, I got one thing to say,

“…Gonna dress you up in my love
All over, all over
Gonna dress you up in my love
All over your body

Feel the silky touch of my caresses
They will keep you looking so brand new
Let me cover you with velvet kisses
I’ll create a look that’s made for you…. “

(Dress You Up Lyrics

Madonna Movie Poster Thought Too “Lesbian”

By Advocate.com Editors

Desperately Seeking Susan x390 (fair) | ADVOCATE.COM

Photos Herb Ritts took of Madonna and Rosanna Arquette during a publicity shoot for their hit film Desperately Seeking Susan were initially deemed too “lesbian,” according to veteran publicist Reid Rosefelt on My Life as a Blog.

Rosefelt, who was working as a publicist on the 1985 mistaken identity comedy, recalls the day he first told Madonna that Ritts would be photographing her and costar Arquette for publicity photos and, possibly, the film’s poster.

“Is he gay?” Madonna asked. “Gay men take good pictures of me.”

Rosefelt recalls that during the meeting for the film’s ad campaign an agency was pitching a campaign that traded on the film’s disillusioned housewife plot, with Arquette’s face on a toaster and Madonna’s face on a piece of toast. Thinking the images were terrible, Rosefelt pulled out photos from the Ritts session, causing a hush in the room.

“Some people at Orion thought that the image would make people think it was a lesbian movie,” Roseflet writes. “Thankfully the film’s producers, Midge Sanford and Sarah Pillsbury, were able to make their case.”

The late photographer would go on to capture some of the most famous images of the music icon, including the cover of her 1986 album True Blue, as well as direct the video for her single “Cherish.”

Rosefelt writes about having spent a lot of time alone with pre-superstardom Madonna during the shoot, where she even asked his opinion of one of her unreleased songs. Years later he ran into Madonna at an art shop and re-introduced himself, saying that he worked with her onSusan.

“A lot of people worked on Desperately Seeking Susan,” she said, as she walked past him.
