You Were Missed @ Hunky Jesus Easter 2011 SF

by Accidental Bear

If there had been a roof the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence would have brought it down for the 32nd time! Sun was magically pulled from a hat after a wet start to the day and another glorious time was had by those attending the festivities by choice or by accident. Sorry to those who wanted a romantic hetero day in the park. Gays dressed as Jesus, Nuns and sexy bunnies ran Dolores Park on Easter and no one had to be beat in to join the gang (hate when that happens).

——————————————————————————

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are back with the 32nd annual Hunky Jesus contest. Set your offense level to stun! But as they say, Jesus has a sense of humor, and so should you. It’s all in loving good fun, and a celebration of an organization that has raised millions to support charities that “Christians” have ignored.

Westboro Spoofs No H8 Campaign; Dumb Asses

by Accidental Bear

At first glance, I thought this was a joke. Come to find out it’s for real, but what a joke. This is some of the most radical improv art ever. Pushing the envelope, current, controversial and dominating conversation. Not to be taken serious, but made out of someones mad hallucinations and put on canvass. In this case, duck tape. Westboro’s comedy act has been on the road for a very long time. They should think about doing stand up or booking galleries. Are they for real, for real? Crazy is, as crazy does.

Subsequent images show members of the church with tape over their mouths and phrases such as “God H8S Fags” and “God H8S Adulterers” painted on their cheeks.

Ask the Expert: Is Anderson Cooper’s closet really about bias?

by Accidental Bear

Anderson Cooper is one of those men I haven’t really spent any time thinking about. He doesn’t fly into my radar. People get so angry when a gay public figure doesn’t go public tell everyone how GAY they are. Him being a flaming homosexual is not his job, reporting the news is his job. I think this may be a case of discretion, which I think more people would benefit from having. I think gays should not take it so personally and mind their own business.

______________________________________________________

Q: I’m confused by Anderson Cooper. Gawker says he brought his boyfriend to Mardi Gras. I know his whole schtick is that he doesn’t talk about his personal life because he doesn’t want it to compromise his neutrality as a journalist, which is standard behavior and something that I have no problem with. But he is far from neutral when it comes to LGBT rights. He’s been very active in covering anti-bullying news and other things relevant to the LGBT community, and in my opinion, I think that compromises his neutrality. Also, can we really consider him in the closet if he attends such public events as Mardi Gras with his “boyfriend?

I don’t know what to think. Some say he should disclose his sexuality just as he discloses that he comes from wealthy family and modeled for Calvin Klein. On the other hand, he’s talked about LGBT topics, favorably, in public before. It’s almost as if, by not coming out, he’s letting people pass some unspoken judgment about him and his opinion of/relationship with homosexuality. Bu why should I even be concerned with his personal life, especially considering I have the privilege of not being in the lime light? — Chaz, New Orleans, LA

A: If Anderson Cooper really is gay, I absolutely support his right to be publicly closeted if that’s his choice. Only he can decide what’s right for him.

Denim Demon ‘Skuvie’ Sweatshirt

Selectism - denim-demon-sweatshirt-01

How many sweatshirts does one man need? That’s the question we ask ourselves, and the answers usually ‘as many as humanly possible’. We like this one because of the chambray chest pocket and the side pocket, making it useful for those days when you’re travelling light. (C Store)

Our Legacy O Neck Jumper

Our Legacy have gone all aran on us with this jumper. While we do feel a little silly recommending a heavy knit when it’s nearly March, sometimes the weather doesn’t play along and warm up when it’s supposed to. And – if you’re in the UK – now is one of those times. (Our Legacy)
