COMIC: Bearmageddon

by Accidental Bear

Check out what it’s all about bearmageddon.com

Bearmageddon is a story about a few every-day twenty-somethings getting caught up in an all-out war on mankind by grizzly bears.  That’s all I’m going to say for now because I don’t want to spoil anything.

Bearmageddon is written, penciled and inked by Ethan Nicolle (Chumble Spuzz, Axe Cop) and colored by Noah Maas.  It is an online graphic novel, meaning it has an end in mind and will not go on indefinitely.  So enjoy the ride and feel free to send any inquiries to info@bearmageddon.com.

Butterflysoulfire’s Spring 2012 Collection Works with an ‘Urban Ape’

by Accidental Bear

butterflysoulfire7 Exot der Zeit by Christoph Voy for Butterflysoulfire Spring 2012

Giving up your tickets to the theater might be a smart choice as fashion lookbooks and photo shoots of collections these days have given us front row seats and a mind full of thoughts to play with. Designer Maria Thomas and Thoas Linder hit us with the idea of an “urban ape” for their current collection. If you can take your attention away from the ape masks, you will see garments with a stretchy sports vibe and loose casual draping. These clothes make me think modern dance company. Beats me, it really is all about the masks. (Fashionisto)

An Englishman living in Canada. Mathew Parsons is a dedicated fine art photography graduate who is passionate about imagery as a form of expression and communication. He spotlights and puts emphasis on self-challenge, within the realms of photography and video, to convey impressions, emotions and statements conclusively. Left Behind: Sculpture Walk by Chris Sollars: Artist & Beard Connoisseur

by Accidental Bear

Artist and beard connoisseur Chris Sollars takes one of his afternoon walks making public sculptures with found trash and debris on the streets of his San Francisco Mission neighborhood. Sollars documents the sculptures with photos and leaves them behind. Sollars is a collaborator along with Comstock Saloon here in San Francisco that will bring us Whiskey Waxing beard and mustache competition on Monday Aug 15, 2011. Bring your whiskers and sip whiskey. Sollar could be the poster child for Accidental Bear: Art, beard, style and a whole lot of spunk!

Prps Goods & Co. Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook: Glorious & Manly from Head to Toe

    by Accidental Bear

    Prps Goods & Co. Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Scanning through men’s fashion blog today you might end up being converted to having a fetish for shaggy homeless men. The male models in a large percent of campaigns for Fall/ Winter 2012 are beastly handsome with manes of luscious hair and larger beards with clothes to match. I’m not complaining, just observing. New York’s Prps is offering up the best of the best in its first-ever Prps Goods & Co. collection for the fall.

Kurt and Courtney’s Daughter Honors Gay Pioneer With Tattoo

    by Accidental Bear

Does this mean that Frances Bean Cobain will be stepping into the spotlight? We would all be tuned in, don’t deny it.

FRANCES BEAN QUENTIN CRISP TATTOO X390 (SOURCED) | ADVOCATE.COM

    via Advocate

A new photo shoot with Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of late rock icon Kurt Cobain and musician-actress-personality Courtney Love, reveals the progeny has a tattoo of Quentin Crisp on her back.

Bean is the subject of a moody black-and-white photo shoot by Hedi Slimane. In the photos the 19-year-old shows off a number of tattoos, including one of the late queer activist on her back beneath her right shoulder next to a French quote, “L’art est la solution au Chaos,” which translates as “Art is the solution of chaos.”

The British-born Crisp, who died in 1999, is still celebrated by many as a queer pioneer. His 1968 memoir The Naked Civil Servant detailed his life and the persecution he often experienced due to his refusal to hide being gay.

World Premiere of “Outlaws of Love” – Adam Lambert – HD Live – Sainte Agathe

    by Accidental Bear

ADAM LAMBERT OUTLAWS OF LOVE 390x (SCREEN) ADVOCATE.COMI believe most writers learn a lot about themselves through writing about others and thinking about your reading audience. Adam Lambert does not fit into my music box but I am all about applauding for a gay brother. As I race towards 40, I feel as if there isn’t as much room in me for hate and judgment and find more pleasure in giving my gays shout outs and instead of useless bashing of words. Adam, I stand up out of my chair and clapping for your effort put into your new single “Outlaw of Love.”

Adam Lambert performed a song off of his upcoming album at the Sainte Agathe Festival in Canada on July 29, 2011.

Fashion Industry Salivates Over Creepy Photos Of 10-Year-Old French Girl

    by Accidental Bear

This photo you are looking at has caused ripples in the fashion world and has brought attention to the term “implied nudity.” Model Thylane Loubry Blondeau is 10 yrs old in the photograph.

Freedom of choice, freedom of expression all plays a part in the “career” of this 10 years old super model Thylane Loubry Blondeau. She is a stunning little girl, but who is making her decisions for her. The interpretations of her “provocative” photo’s are in the eyes of the beholder. Whereas, one may say a topless 10 year old girl is vulgar and crosses the line, another may say art. Does anybody have to be wrong? What are your thoughts?

    jezebel.com  says

The child model’s parents are Patrick Blondeau, a former soccer player, and Véronika Loubry, who used to present a celebrity news show on French television and now designs a mother-daughter clothing line. Thylane has graced the cover of VogueEnfants, starred in ad campaigns for the children’s lines of major brands, and regularly works with top fashion photographers including Dani Brubaker. She started early: in October, 2005, at the age of 4, Thylane walked in Jean-Paul Gaultier‘s spring show. She came to my attention earlier this year, when she was one of the models featured in a Vogue Paris — that’s regular, grown-up Vogue, not kiddie Vogue— editorial that took fashion’s fetishistic, often exploitative relationship with extreme youth as its subject. Now there’s a “Fuck Yeah” Tumblr devoted to her every move.

Josh Ritter: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

    by Accidental Bear

One of my non-guilty pleasures is NPR‘s Tiny Desk Concerts. Musicians chosen wisely. I’m not sure but I think NPR may have me in mind and smoke grass (a lot). If this is your first time or you missed this one, I present to you, Josh Ritter.” Josh Ritter carries himself with the bearing of a folk-singing mayor: gregarious, charming, down-to-earth and impeccably dressed. But there’s not an ounce of insincerity about him, or else he’d have found a way to sing the apocalyptic ballad “The Temptation of Adam” without letting all those wry smiles slip through. Watch Ritter perform a Tiny Desk Concert at the NPR Music offices (NPR).”

There is Hipster & Then There is Awkward Clothing: Spring/Summer 2012 in-house collection from the Opening Ceremony

    by Accidental Bear

I will do Opening Ceremony  the favor of holding off judgment until I see the whole collection, as they say they are holding back from showing the full collection yet. The missing pieces will have to fight an uphill battle in my mind to help out what I see so far. Awkward, very awkward.

Men’s Clothing 2011-2012: Spring-Summer Fashion 2012 Collection –Clothing Spring-Summer Fashion Trends 2012 For Men: Now in: some first looks at the Spring/Summer 2012 in-house collection from the Opening Ceremony line.

The collection is vast and we’ll do our best to show as much as we can, but we’re holding back on some looks for later. For now, we preview a good chunk of the collection. Highlight colors work throughout the collection. The knit-top above is a great casual garment for the season. Much more to be seen in our gallery.

“Composed of eclectic, easy-to-wear pieces in clean silhouettes, the men’s collection features an extensive palette of vivid primary colors –  electric greens, yellows, blues, and reds…”

All Eyes On Elephant, Twin brothers Jackson and Coleman: Punk-infused Hip Hop Duo

    by Accidental Bear

     ELEPHANT

they make LGBT culture look something like that acid trip that nearly killed you.”

To fight for your own identity is to fight for everyone’s. Our message is in our DNA. Being yourself and embracing it, owning it, maybe the message of Elephant–but more importantly–could be the meaning of life itself. Although we’re not particularly philosophical as musicians, it’s unavoidable when explaining this great big holy mess. We find that people often ask us the same questions. “How the fuck did this happen?” “What exactly happened to you?” Whether or not this is a good thing (we’re still unsure), it seems that we’re one of those bands that almost requires an explanation. If we tried to explain exactly how we became “artists”, that’s easy: we were born with passion that we best express through music. But, that’s not what people want to know. What they’re really after is the dirt: did we both come out of the proverbial closet at the same time and–as a sort of therapeutic release—air our angst-ridden tales of rowdy bathroom stalls, heroin binges, month-long hunger strikes, and the like? Maybe. Maybe it was years of feeling like we couldn’t survive high and certainly couldn’t survive sober that have opened our eyes to this mindset of “not giving a fuck” about anyone else’s opinions, judgments or suggestions. Dark roads tend to do that. Or this could all simply be a fated part of our path. Since the moment of conception it seems that path has been headed toward a—hopefully—deeper understanding of what’s important to us as individuals. Elephant is our way of embracing that identity. If we can’t embrace it, how will we get down that long road to higher self-discovery? Maybe that’s how this happened, -Elephant
