Julius breaks the boundaries between the masculine and the feminine, with leather bras alongside cargo pants and trench coats.
His collection seemed to investigate the boundaries of the feminine and the masculine – a question that he answered by creating a hybrid body, both effeminate and aggressively male. He did so by transferring archetypical elements from the female wardrobe into men’s lingo: leather bras and skirts, alongside army boots and leather trench coats. One notable look consisted of a black maxi-skirt with a large frontal slit, worn with a calfskin bra, necklace and arm bands – all worn by a transvestite, hotter-than-Kate, long-haired model. The collection in a nutshell? Dystopian, fearless, hermaphrodite. (via dazeddigital.com)
Having a tank top on is one step closer to being nude, think about it men. What I love about tanks is that they are celebrated by every demographic of queers. Muscles gays can show off their guns, bears can high light their fuzzy shoulder, backs and chests, twinks can reach in the sides and play their rib cage like a xylophone and finally those with an armpit fetish, need I say more. Eden Slezin and Lucas Ringhofer have got this so right on, with a plethora of cool designs and patterns. I think they might have had you in mind.
On Sunday September 4th, at 12pm to 3pm.

The Relativity points us in the direction of this excellent Autumn/Winter 2011 collection from Japanese designe, Taishi Nobukuni. The former St Martins student spent time working under British tailor Charlie Allen and has used these formal skills to create a traditional but highly individual collection. Influences seem to be plucked from all over, Dandy, country gent, even a little 70s pimp for good measure and while some pieces push the boundaries there are enough wearable looks to deem this an accessible collection. While you were busy at work answering calls, attending meetings and making trivial decisions I did some window shopping for you (thanks & you’re welcome). This could also be translated as my Christmas wish list, just saying.

Interview: Walter Van Beirendonck Invites Everyone to Step into his Head at his Retrospect Exhibition 9/13
We got a hold of Walter Van Beirendonck right at a monumental time in his life. Fans and fashionistas have bowed down to Walter’s genius, corky and colorful collections for decades. On September 13, 2011 the Antwerp Fashion Museum will be displaying a large retrospect exhibition of Walter’s work from 1980 – 2012 called DREAM THE WORLD AWAKE. The tickets for the retrospective better be honored for a week, because that is how long it will take to honor, respect and swallow the fine details of the clothing and the brilliant visual scrap-book of Walter’s life. Walter confesses that it was emotional while pulling pieces from his archives and seeing his life’s work all in one big space. That must have been massive treasure chest of joy and memories.
Walter, whom I consider friend and ‘bear’ role model played well with all of our questions but stayed a gentlemen when describing what types of kink tickles his fancy. Walter Van Beirendonck is the ultimate Accidental Bear and has a glorious beard and dynamic spirit that deserves its own love song.

Q & A with fashion bear Walter Van Beirendonck:
Accidental Bear: How was your summer? With the fashion world aside for a second, where could I find you on a fun day off?
Walter Van Beirendonck? In Antwerp, Belgium. Summer was really busy, working mainly on preparing my retrospective which will open soon, 13th of September, in the fashion museum, MOMU-DREAM THE WORLD AWAKE.
Fun days are days when I can visit other cities, go to the museum and galleries, browse around in bookshops, eat ice-cream with friends!
A B: Sherbet or ice cream?
Walter: ICE-CREAM!!! With strawberries
A B: Your clothing stirs up all sorts of reactions from people, usually joy from the amazing playfulness of colors. How would you react to any negative comments to your design? Have you actually received any negative feedback?
Greetings bears, cubs, chasers, daddies, chubs, grizzlies, and any other forest creatures we failed to mention. We are WoofTEASE. It all began with an idea, we thought the bear world was ready for something new as opposed to the classical bear designs and slogans. After the first shirt was made and people began to notice, we realized that we weren’t the only ones who were thirsty for a creative change. wooftease.com
You will most likely see me next on the Dr Phil show talking about my horrible addiction to sweatshirts. I must have at least 25. One for when I’m cold, I’m sad, I’m happy, I feel pretty, for the gym, to sleep in, I’m horny in…. you get my drift. It look like I’ll have one more after the UPS man gets here. Warehouse just pulled on this winner and it’s hot from head to toe! Wait, it’s hot from neck to waist I mean. Find it at Blue & Green .
“It’s all there – Loopwheel woven, Double ‘V’ stitch, thick rib cuffs and hem, it even has ‘freedom style’ armpits, a 1940’s design which allows you to swing your arms around unhindered. Finally, we can look stylish and do Jumping Jacks in full comfort. ” (via Selectism)
Japanese retailer United Arrows presents ‘Portrait of United Arrows: Fall/Winter 2011′, a lookbook showcasing the collections that will be available in store in the coming months. These looks have a European-world traveller-literary-writer-poet-bbisexual and I don’t brush y teeth everyday feel to them, but when put together well I am a huge fan. The presentation of these clothes is impeccable.
There is a desire deep in the pit of my stomach for these. Classic and sturdy and not going anywhere fast. Red Wing adds crepe soles for spongy goodness and has to beneficial for your ankle joints as you hop around the city. This coming year I am going to pull off my new look, Nerd. Mike Enders
“More looks at the Red Wing Spring 2012 offers. Check the (heavy) crepe soles on the mocs and deck shoes models shown above. Well chosen leather options continue to breathe newness into the Red Wing offering. Still in trend and going strong.” Selectism

The wild and mangy whiskers of some 60 European hopefuls went on display over the weekend as the 2011 Alpine Beard Festival kicked off in Chur, Switzerland. As the Daily Mail is reporting, the event — now in its 26th year — drew hairy locals as well as some contestants from neighboring Germany and Austria. The event rivals the World Beard and Moustache Championships in Trondheim, Norway. MORE PICS
