CUTE TANK by San Francisco’s Own Lucas Ringhofer and Eden Slezin

by Accidental Bear

Having a tank top on is one step closer to being nude, think about it men. What I love about tanks is that they are celebrated by every demographic of queers. Muscles gays can show off their guns, bears can high light their fuzzy shoulder, backs and chests, twinks can reach in the sides and play their rib cage like a xylophone and finally those with an armpit fetish, need I say more. Eden Slezin and Lucas Ringhofer have got this so right on, with a plethora of cool designs and patterns. I think they might have had you in mind.

On Sunday September 4th, at 12pm to 3pm.

Sui GENERIS “ille” are happy to Launch the line of Tank tops of their good friends Lucas and Eden

Please stop by say hello, have a Margarita, try on a CUTE TANK top and take it home!  Eden & Lucas with all their mounds of good looks and charm will be there as your host for the event.

Miguel from Sui Generis talks Seasonal Transition

by Accidental Bear
Miguel Lopez

Miguel Lopez / Owner of sui generis SF CA

Miguel talks, I listen.

Dressing for Seasonal Transition – Tip of the Week-

San Francisco is in limbo these days. How long is winter going to last for? When can we start sporting our spring apparel? With stints of wet and chilly weather followed by sunny and clear stretches you may find yourself wondering how to dress for such a transitional period of time. Well, the secret is to always be prepared.

Throw that umbrella in your bag, just in case. Be knowledgeable about the weather forecast (Weather.com Hour-By-Hour Forecast is a useful tool) Give yourself options by layeringyour clothing so you can be comfortable in a wider range of temperatures. Don’t prematurely throw on those shorts at the first signs of sun. Start to add a bit more color to your wardrobe but don’t skimp on the material just quite yet. Be patient.

Mixing Patterns- Tip of the Week- Miguel Lays it Down

by Accidental Bear

In Miguel I trust

Miguel Lopez from sui generis

“The ability to harmonize patterns is a skill that comes naturally to a select few. When done well, it provides versatility to a wardrobe, allowing the wearer to create a greater number of unique outfit combinations. For the majority of us, the guidelines of mixing patterns must simply be learned. Many of the following tips are borrowed from an excellent resource entitled Dressing the Man by Alan Flusser. This is a book no man’s library is complete without. Whether you’re already a style-conscious man or are looking to brush up on your fundamentals, this valuable reference touches on a multitude of topics from patterns and color to neckwear and formalwear etiquette.” Read More CLICK

How to be Spiffy this NYE!

by Accidental Bear

Miguel Lopez from Sui GENERIS says :

www.suigenerisconsignment.com

Many believe that how you ring in the New Year sets the tone for the one to come. While we don’t believe that to be true for all aspects of life, one thing that’s certain is you must be looking your best in the waning hours of 2010. No matter what your plans are, this is your opportunity to showcase

Sui GENERIS SF CA: Turn it Up a Notch this NYE

by Accidental Bear

In Miguel , I trust!!

I stopped in to Sui GENERIS on Upper Market Street today and played dress up with Miguel Lopez( owner). Within 5 minutes Miguel had me in a dashing blazer  that fit well and was perfect for my hair and skin coloring. Being a ginger I tend to always be a tad pink. Miguel knew just how to deal with it. He transferred me from street rat to dapper in o time. In Miguel, I trust.

Miguels tips for looking sharp on New Years Eve :

Here Now: Dinner Jackets

Traditionally the dinner jacket has been the mainstay of black tie attire, setting the tone for an almost always formal event. Almost inseparably matched with tuxedo trousers, a formal white shirt, black cummerbund and bow tie, the dinner jacket’s role in men’s formal wear has newly evolved and grown to encompass a less rigidly defined set of circumstances for wear.

Wearing a dinner jacket to an event that doesn’t necessarily require one provides the wearer some fashion freedom, lifting them from the rules and regulations that normally accompany such a garment. Since the dinner jacket establishes a certain level of poise the wearer is now able dress in matching or complimentary colors. It’s important to note that a dinner jacket doesn’t always have to be black. Vary the color and material to match the current season and climate. Here are some of our favorites in store now.

Expand your notion of the dinner jacket. A staple that will always anchor black tie attire has now expanded its repertoire. Next time you’re searching for what to wear to an upcoming cocktail or dinner party, turn to a Sui GENERIS dinner jacket.

Style Education: Bow Ties

by Accidental Bear

I all of the sudden want a bow tie!

Miguel from Sui GENERIS says:

There are three main categories of bow ties: The pre-tied, the clip-on and the self-tie.

Pre-tied: Just as it sounds, this type of bow tie is easily accessible to all desiring to expand their fashion repertoire with just the fastening of a clip.

Clip-on: style of bow tie in which the bow is already made and is tied around the collar with a metal clip. Like the pre-tied, this style allows even the most inexperienced to dawn the bow tie.

Self-tie: Here is where the true finesse comes in. Consisting of a single strip of cloth that one must use proper technique to tie. The following two main styles provide the wearer with some options when selecting their bow tie.

  • Batwing- bow tie with cricket-bat shaped “blades.” The wing ends are either straight-end or pointed-end.

  • Hourglass/Butterfly: bow tie with thistle-shaped blades that create flared, slightly curved wings which like the batwing, are either straight or pointed.

Come visit Sui GENERIS to peruse our selection and find the style that suits what you’re looking for.

by Accidental Bear

My gift to you this holiday season is giving you a map leading you to SUI GENERIS on Market Street in San Francisco, CA. Classic styles done with ease! The store has amazing decor ( Its what you may try to do at your own apartment but fail , but these two nail it. Bravo!). My eyes dart from the walls to the racks to the animal skin rugs , all my senses being pleased.

I had a conversation with Miguel (owner) the other day and he said “… that yes, we carry L, XL, and sometimes XXL and they always can ask for assistance.. we love to do that ” . He mentioned that since I would be representing and marketing to the Accidental bears, that SUI GENERIS has your backs ( and covers them too.)

Owners Miguel and Gabriel have spent their entire life around clothes, and they have hands-on entrepreneurial experience in retail sales and merchandising going back to 1994.
