California Gay History BillConservatives Begin Push To Overturn Gay History Law SACRAMENTO, California — A family advocacy group is already challenging a new California law that adds lessons about gays to social studies classes. Paulo Sibaja of the Sacramento-based Capitol Resource Institute said he started the process Friday for a statewide vote to overturn the bill signed by Gov. Jerry Brown a day earlier. Brown, a Democrat, signed SB 48, making California the first state in the nation to teach about gays and lesbians in a public school curriculum.

Facebook Calls Details Gay In a quirk of Internet smart-marketing, Facebook offers subscriptions to “Details GAY Mag.” Details has seen Adam Lambert on its cover, along with a ton of gay faves, including Matthew Morrison, Joe Jonas, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt—OK, all their covers feature gay faves. While it’s often been remarked just how gay the magazine is, this is the first advertising we’re aware of in which Details is explicitly sold as “gay.”

The Atlantic describes the film as “framing its subject as a Christ-like savior of an America that’s lost its fiscal and spiritual way,” and The Village Voice calls it “less a documentary than a glowing two-hour infomercial for Sarah Palin, Presidential Candidate To-Be.” The Undefeatedcurrently carries a 34 approval rating on movie review aggregator MetaCritic.com.

Bin Laden Was Plotting a 9/11/11 Attack When We Offed Him The Wall Street Journal has new details on what intelligence, exactly, we got from the Abbottabad compound Osama bin Laden was living in when he was hunted down and killed by Navy SEALs. Top among the discoveries: Bin Laden wanted to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with another 9/11. According to the Journal‘s intelligence sources, documents seized from the compound show that bin Laden and his chief of operations Attiyah Abd al-Rahman were putting together an attack, probably targeting the U.S. train system, for September 11, 2011. The planning hadn’t advanced beyond recruiting attackers, the Journalsays, a process that didn’t get too far because “bin Laden repeatedly reject[ed] names that Mr. Rahman suggested.” He was a picky plotter.
