Start the Countdown;Derek Schmidt, Jeb Haven & Beard Summit 2/25

by Accidental Bear

Forget looking forward to Valentines, didn’t we all do that last year? I have my apple shaped kitchen timer set for February 25th. It takes  knock out performers to get me to see them multiple times. Hell, I’ll even go as far as saying I’m a Jeb Havens and Derek Schmidt groupie! I hang out in the tour bus, sleep with the roadies, do smack, wear bikini tops and acid wash skin tight jeans! ( Just kidding, I wear tube tops not bikinis) This will be my first time seeing Bear Summit and I’m excited as ever. Hope to see you all there.

I AM ALL OVER THISBEARD FLINGING FRENZY!!!

San Franciscos Baby-boom of High-End Health Food Stores

by Accidental Bear

Mollie Stones, Whole Foods , Trader Joes , etc are popping up everywhere these days in San Francisco neighborhoods. I am usually 100%  for these yummy specialty grocery stores. I look forward  to my occasional trips to Traders Joe, a treat, a pat on my back and reward myself with a bag of treats( I’m a TOTAL SUCKER for cool or “healthy” packaging). Now that these type grocery stores are becoming COMMON, will they loose their flare?

Gay Super City Planned for Calif. Desert

By Advocate.com Editors

BOOM X390 | ADVOCATE.COM

Almost a dozen architecture firms have created designs for a proposed gay-centric, pedestrian-friendly community not far from Palm Springs, Calif.

Called Boom, the community would house 300 residences and eight neighborhoods in a space of 100 acres. While originally conceived by a Los Angeles developer as a gay-centered community, Boom would be open to anyone. Aside from homes, amenities include an entertainment center and a “rooftop mist disco.”

Located in Rancho Mirage, Boom has not yet started to wend its way through the city approval process, but its developer hopes to break ground next year and finish construction in late 2014. The project’s first phase would cost about $250 million to develop.

Its All About the Shoes (and naked guy)

by Accidental Bear

Im going to rethink my storage boxes from childhood. My smurfs and monkey stuffed animals with velcro hands (the better to hug you with) can obviously, after seeing these photos go to better use. Coming soon, ME strutting down the sidewalk with smurfs braided into my pubes and stuffed monkeys tied to my feet for shoes!

Lets Talk; Biodegradable Straws & “Green” Cups

by Accidental Bear

I woke up this morning with two felines staring down at me from the the shelf below. I quickly remember that we’re out of cat food. I acted quickly because I thinking they were sizing up my eyeballs as the next-best-thing for breakfast. Cat food √ , next I found myself at Ritual Coffee on Valencia for our morning coffee (jesus juice) for me and my better half who was still in bed. I rolled up on my sleeves of my flannel to expose my tattoos in hopes of receiving better/ faster (it’s that kind of place) I have a love-hate relationship with Ritual. I hate it when I wait in line for 10 minutes for an ice coffee and pay $2.50 for a scone half the normal size, but I love them when they make “purdy” designs on the top of my boyfriends mocha.

OK OK, what was my point here? Ahhh, I remember now. I approached the milk station there in a stylish red container were straws and on the outside marked ” Biodegradable Straws”. I’ve seen them before but they haven’t stroke me like they did today. 1st thought, COOL, 2nd thought , WHY? and 3rd thought . . .Damn , this is a “deelish” ice coffee ( FYIRituals ice coffee tastes like chocolate to me) . This is what I found out about these FANCY-MODERN STRAWS
